Leg Ham Traditional Wood Smoked - Half (Boneless) 3-4kg
To have a ham at the Christmas table is very traditional, but some families can't get through a whole ham, so we have made this half portion for you to have on your special day, made even easier to carve with the bone taken out. If there are any left-overs you will be sorted for a few cheeky ham toasties on the weekends to come! There is a reason this is an award-winning ham.
Inspiration: With the 3 stage smoking process the ham is already cooked and ready to be sliced. Half a Ham is still a beautiful addition glazed at a Christmas table. For a glazed ham inspiration you can try a rich and delicious glaze that gets perfectly caramelized in the oven - in a small pot melt, 1/2 cup of butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup maple syrup, 1/2 cup apple cider, 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, a pinch of nutmeg, and a couple of cloves. Baste the ham with the glaze, and cook at 160'C for 2 hours, and baste every 30 minutes. YUM!
Provenance: For us, the process is simple, one leg, to one ham. We don't use any mixing, tumbling or additives. It is pure porky authentic, whole female leg with our own pickle a recipe handed down over the generations. We apply a 3-stage smoke and rest process using the distinctive Victorian Mountain Ash wood chips which give it the memorable smokey sweet flavour.
